Little balls of sweetness that melt in your mouth.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake Cookies for approximately 30 minutes. Watch so they do not get too brown.
Using mixer cream butter and sugar in medium bowl. Add Vanilla to the creamed butter and sugar and mix. Stir flour into mixture until completely mixed. Add nuts and stir or mix with spatula. Batter will be soft and easily shaped by hand into small balls, size of tablespoon , not bigger than a walnut. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet. Use a light colored cookie sheet for best results. Cookies will brown too fast on a dark cookie sheet. When done cookies should be light in color with bottom just browned.
Let cookies cool on cookie sheet 4-5 minutes to prevent crumbling when removed.
Place half of the pound of powdered sugar in a large bowl. Remove the cookies 4-5 at the time from the cookie sheet and place in the powdered sugar gently. Roll the cookies in the powdered sugar and place on a cooling rack. Add more powdered sugar to the bowl as needed. When all the cookies are rolled once, then start over and roll all the cookies again and again so that each cookie has 3 coats of powdered sugar.
When cookies are cooled they can be stored well in an airtight container.
Nana said if we did not roll each cookie in powdered sugar 3 times the cookies would not be right.
