Apple Pie my grandmother's way! Grew up on it and love it.
Recipe does not include pie crust. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.
1. Arrange sliced apples in bottom pie crust to form a mound. You want more rather than less due to shrinkage of the apples in the oven. Make a nice mound.
2. Combine all dry ingredients and the egg to form a mixture resembling thin peanut butter.
3. Pour your sugar mixture over your apples like a batter..
4. Place butter slices on top of everything..
5. Cover the pie with your top crust. Be sure to crimp the edges of your pie together so you don't lose any filling. Slit the top of the pie to relieve steam pressure when cooking.
6. Brush top of pie with egg wash. This will provide the brown finish.
6. Bake for 1 Hour 10 Min.
Take your time to crimp the pie crusts together. An apple pie blow out in your oven will not be fun to clean.
