In a mixing bowl, blend the cake mix, softened butter, and eggs until well combined. If you're using nuts, fold them into the batter.
Spread the cake batter evenly into the prepared pan.
For the icing:
Mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar and egg in a separate bowl until smooth.
Pour the icing over the cake batter in the pan, spreading it out evenly.
Bake in oven for 45 min or until the cake is set and the edges are lightly golden.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan before slicing and serving.
