No/Knead Refrigerator Rolls
Dorchester H S Home Econ Class 1960’s
2 Pkg active dry yeast
2 cups lukewarm water
½ cup sugar
2 tsp salt
6 ½-7 cups flour or less
1 egg
¼ cup soft shortening
Dissolve yeast in water, add sugar & salt,
½ of the flour and beat adding egg & shortening.
Gradually beat in remaining flour, cover with damp cloth.
Store in refrigerator. Shape rolls and let raise 1 ½-2 hours
Bake 400 oven for 12-15 minutes
May be kept in Refrigerator for up to 2 weeks
My favorite was a ring with prune filling and frosted with powdered sugar frosting and caramel rolls.
