Saute onions in butter until tender.
In a baking dish put 1/2 the onions on the bottom.
Cover with 1/2 of each type of crackers, 1/2 Parmesan.
Add rest of onions. Top with rest of crackers and parmesan. Spread on soup and then grated cheddar.
Bake uncovered for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
