This is an old recipe that is a perfect companion to homemade ice cream or whipped cream.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt; then set it aside. In a mixing bowl, beat the egg and sugar together until they are creamy. Stir in the sifted dry ingredients. Blend well. Stir in the vanilla, chopped nuts, and the apples.
Spoon the batter into a well greased 10-inch pie plate and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Sprinkle more nuts over the top after it is finished baking, if you wish. Serve warm or cold with ice cream of whipped cream.
