Wash, trim, and pat dry the asparagus spears. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
Place asparagus spears in one layer on the baking sheet and brush with oil.
Bake in heated oven for 6 minutes. Turn the spears and bake for another 6 minutes or until the spears are tender.
Combine cheese and garlic salt (or sea salt) and sprinkle over the roasted asparagus.
