2. In a large bowl, toss together zucchini, garlic, oil, salt, pepper, and thyme. Arrange in a lightly greased 2-quart shallow baking dish. Evenly distribute tomatoes over zucchini.
3. In a small bowl, combine breadcrumbs and cheese. Sprinkle evenly over tomatoes to coat the surface of the baking dish. Bake in oven until browned and bubbling, 35 to 45 minutes. Cool 15 minutes and serve warm.
