Brown the beef, garlic and onions together in a bit of olive oil.
Add remainder of ingredients except cheese and simmer 20 minutes until pasta is tender.
Add cheese, stir well and serve hot.
CROCK POT:
Brown the beef, drain and add to the crock pot. Sautee the onions, add the garlic to sautee at the last minute. Add to crock pot.
Add the rest of the ingredients except pasta and cheese. Cook on high 4-5 hours or low 6-8 hours.
Add the pasta in the last 30 minutes to an hour at the end of cooking. Stir in the cheese 5 minutes prior to serving.
