Suggest a better description1.Scrub mussels. Pull off beards, the tuft of fibers that attach each mussel to it's shell, cutting them at the base with a paring knife. Discard those that do not close when you handle them and any with broken shells. Set aside.
2.Combine onion, garlic, parsley, bay leaves, thyme, wine, and butter in large pot. Bring to boil. Lower heat, and cook 4-5 minutes.
3. Add Clams, cover. Add a dash of whipping cream. After five minutes add mussels. Cook for 10 minutes, frequently shaking/stirring pot to coat in sauce.
4. In another pot, make linguine according to package directions. When done, drain and DON'T FORGET to reserve 1/2 cup of cooking liquid.
5. Add 1/2 cup of cooking liquid to sauce and simmer for a few more minutes.
6. If pasta is cold, warm it up in microwave (or keep a pot of warm salted water on the side to heat up pasta- only dip in water for 1 min at most or until soften)
7. Take out seafood and place in oven to keep warm.
8. Toss Pasta in sauce then top w/ seafood. Garnish w/ red pepper flakes, a wedge of lemon on the side and more parsely if desired
Trick to try next time: Strain liquid, and return to pot. Add remaining butter and parsley. Heat until butter melts. Pour over mussels.
