Peanut Brittle
In a small bowl add the baking soda, butter and salt and allow the butter to soften. Set aside until needed.
Butter 2 cookie sheets and set aside until needed.
In a 3 quart "Revere" pan mix:
3 cups of sugar
1 cup of White Caro Syrup
1/2 cup of water
Bring to a boil over "medium heat" until a fine hair forms (240?).
Add 2 1/2 cups of peanuts (1 lb) and continue to cook until the mixture turns a "golden" color (300?).
Add quickly the baking soda, butter and salt mixture and stir thourly until the butter is completely melted.
Let the mixture rise to the top of the pan and then fold it onto two buttered cooking sheets.
Allow to cool and then break into pieces!
