Preheat oven to!350
Combine pears, brandy and sugar in bowl and let stand 30 minutes
Butter a deep dish pie plate or medium cast iron skillet
Pour the liquid from pears into blender. Add remaining ingredients and blend at high speed for one minute
Arrange pears on bottom of dish then pour batter over pears
Place in center of oven and bake 45 to 60 minutes or until puffed and slightly brown
Cool to warm and sprinkle with powder sugar and serve. May be served chilled also.
