Melt butter. Add half and half and nutmeg. Cool 5 minutes. Overlap potatoes in ovenproof pan. Sprinkle with pepper and beau monde. Add wine to cream mixture and pour over potatoes. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake 35-40 minutes at 375.
