Hungarian casserole
Heavily spray 12x18 pan. Dice potatoes into bite-sized pieces. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and small amount of cayenne pepper, if desired. Baked at 400 degrees til tender (don't get too tender or will turn to mush!) ~1/2 hr.
Meanwhile, drain sauerkraut. Melt some butter in a skillet over medium - medium low heat. Add sauerkraut. Season with some pepper, caraway (if desired). Cook down, turning as necessary until slightly browned. ~20-30 minutes.
Also during this time sauté the onions in some butter. Then add the mushrooms. Then add soup, water and green beans and heat then.
During this time you can also have another pan for the meat. Slice it long ways, cut into circles and then cut those circles in half. Place those in a pan and cover with beer. Cook it down.
Add everything to the pan of potatoes and mix. You can taste it to see if it needs more seasoning. Throw it back in the oven to heat for another 15-30 minutes.
