Salsa verde is a type of spicy, green sauce in Mexican cuisine based on tomatillo and green chili peppers.
Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees.
Cut the tops off the tomatillos and jalapenos. Thinly cover the bottom of a baking dish with the olive oil. Place the tomatillos and the jalapenos face down on the baking dish and place the dish in the oven. After about 20 minutes, sprinkle the green onion pieces on top of the tomatillos and jalapenos. Remove the tomatillos and jalapenos when they start to blister and change color.
Place the cilantro, lime juice, cumin, black pepper, and turbinado sugar in a food processor and pulse until heavily chopped. Dump the
baking dish contents into the food processor and break down the complete contents to a salsa.
