Suggest a better descriptionCombine flour, sugar, baking powder & salt. Cut in margarine. Combine milk, almond extract & egg. Add to flour mixture & stir just until moistened. Press 1/2 of mixture into the bottom of an 8 inch square pan that has been coated with Pam. Bake at 400F for 5 minutes. Spread the base with preserves. Drop remaining half of mixture by small spoonfuls evenly over preserves. Bake an additional 13-18 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
