Simple and cheap to make tator tot casserole. I like to use a low sodium and fat soup.
Preheat oven to 350
Layout tots in a 9x13 pan.
Dice the onion and sate in pan on med heat with 2tbs butter.
Add one lb of ground meat to onions and cook till brown
Drain any liquid.
Put a layer of cheese on top of tot. Add meat/onion mix to top of tots.
In separate bowl mix can of soups and milk. Mix well then pour evenly over dish.
Add final layer of cheese to top.
Bake in oven @350 for 45 mins. After 45 min turn on broil and brown/crisp cheese to liking.
