Suggest a better description1 cup boiling water---Pour over 1 cup Kellogg's Bran Buds. Soak.
Meanwhile: Cream 1/2 cup butter or oleo (1 stick)
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
Add: 2& 1/2 cups flour: ( I use 1& 1/2 white flour, 3/4 cup whole wheat flour and 1/4 cup ground flax seed , but any combo equaling 2 & 1/2 is fine)
2 & 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Which you will alternate with 2 cups buttermilk.
Add; 2 cups Bran Buds plus the soaked bran.
I add 1 cup chopped walnuts & 1 cup raisins, but you can leave either or both out or use pecans or sunflower seeds. Just don't add any fresh fruit.
Pour into lined or Pam sprayed muffin tins. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes (I find 18 min. is perfect with my oven). Makes about 36 muffins which can be frozen . I imagine this recipe would be easy to cut in half too.
