Delicious Japanese winter soup.
Cut and boil konnyaku.
Fry the meat for about 30 seconds.
Slice thinly the gobo, cover with cold water (add a little bit of vinegar) to make gobo less bitter. (The water will become darker; discard the water.
Cut potatoes and carrots in slices of irregular form (slices should be approximately of same size).
Cut the Japanese radish in round sectors, and onion in rounds.
Mix radish, carrots, onion and potatoes with the meat (and prepared konnyaku), cover with dashi. Add two tbsp of miso and boil until the vegetables are cooked.
Add sake, soy sauce, the rest of miso.
Turn off the heat.
Cover with sliced green onion and sprinkle with a little bit of red pepper to taste.
