Mum's old recipe

Beat egg-yolks and milk lightly together. Add sifted dry ingredients, beat until smooth. Add melted, cooled butter and water, blend well. Fold in firmly beaten egg whites.
Brush teflon waffle iron surfaces with oil.
Spoon approximately 2 tablespoons of mixture into the centre of iron (enough to ensure plate is covered when closed).
Close and cook each waffles for 1 minute or until golden brown.
