In a medium bowl whisk together flour through baking powder.
In a separate bowl mix together the buttermilk, butter, vanilla and egg yolks. Add the dry ingredients and whisk to combine.
With an electric mixer, whisk the egg whites until they hold soft peaks. Gently fold them into the batter. Cook.
