first and best wild rice recipe

1. wash rice in cold water and drain.
2. put rice into a saucepan, cover with water and bring to a boil.
3. Reduce heat and simmer for 60 minutes, drain.
4. saute bacon, green onions, and mushrooms for 5 minutes.
5. put rice in a casserole dish and stir in tomatoes, garlic powder and bacon mixture.
6. season with salt and pepper.
7. Sprinkle cheese over the casserole and bake for 20 minutes at 300 degrees.
