Suggest a better description1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook pasta. When pasta is done, drain and return to pot, toss with milk. Remove pasta pot from heat and cover.
2. In the meantime, if using a bunch of broccoli, cut the stalks away from florets, trim and peel and cut into 1/4 slices. Cut florets into 1 inch diameter pieces. Steam the cut broccoli in saucepan or with pasta for about 5 minutes, until tender.
3. Heat oil in small skillet. Add the garlic and the jalapeno pepper, if desired. Saute over low heat for 1 minute, then mash into the oil with a fork and continue to saute over very low hear for 2 minutes.
4. Add steamed broccoli and garlic mixture to the pasta in the pot. Add Parmesan cheese, season to taste with salt and pepper, serve.
