Ingredients


Preparation

Combine sugar, milk, cocoa and butter in saucepan over medium heat; bring to a boil. Continue to boil for 1 1/2 minutes; remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter until melted. Add oats.

Drop by spoonfuls on wax paper and let cool.

A lost recipe from my childhood, a blessing to find again. 5 minutes to make. 5 minutes for family to devour. Decadence offset by the healthful oatmeal. Comfort snack. Thanks for posting it .

I make these often for friends and family. I work with alot of runners and this is a favorite for them. All that good protein and not real fattening. My Scouts like to have them as snacks on trips and when backpacking in cooler weather.

They make up really fast and not to much cleanup. Even for those cooks that can't cook you can't mess these up, they will always turn out right.

Recipe here calls for 3 cups oats. You can sub with pecans and/or coconut to total 3 cups; one of which MUST be oatmeal.

This recipe is very easy to make and is also a very good cookie. Chocolate and peanut butter is a combination that is hard to beat in my opinion. Thanks for sharing, mommy2tommy.
