1. Preheat broiler. Shape the ground beef into 8, 1/4" thick patties. Place one cheese slice on top of each of four patties; sprinkle with crumbled bacon. Place remaining four patties on top of the bacon-and-cheese-topped patties. Seal edges well
2. Place patties on the unheated rack of a broiler pan. Broil 3-4" from the heat for 10-12 minutes or until done (160?F), turning patties once halfway through cooking. Place remaining four cheese slices on top of patties. Broil for 1 minute more.
3. Meanwhile, spread cut sides of toasted buns with the onion diop. Serve burgers on prepared buns.
