A delicious treat! Not too sweet, but can be sweetened to taste! I have made it with different types of apples and it's always delicious!

2 lbsapples
0.25 cupwater
0.5 cupSugar
0.5 cupbrown sugar
0.5 tsp.nutmeg
0.5 tsp.cinnamon
0.25 tsp.Salt
0.75 cupFlour
butter; softened or melted

Apple Crisp Preparation

Peel the apples and slice them thinly. Put them in an even layer in an 8"x8" baking dish. Sprinkle with water. Set aside.

Combine dry ingredients in medium bowl, and cut in butter until all is well combined. Sprinkle evenly over apples, but do not stir.

Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove foil and bake for another 30 minutes. The crust will be crisp and bubbly.

Serve warm or cold. Great with vanilla ice cream!

Very easy to make and very yummy too!

The most time-consuming part is peeling and slicing the apples. I weighed them after they were peeled and sliced. The peeling and slicing can take 30 minutes or so depending on the method of peeling. [I posted this recipe.]
