The lemon glaze adds a nice finish to this spicy, moist cake.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and flour a 9" square baking pan.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add egg, sugar, molasses and mix well.
Pour boiling water and oil over mixture and fold together.
Pour into prepared pan.
Bake on middle rack of oven for 35-40 minutes.
While baking, prepare lemon glaze: Mix together confectioner''s sugar and fresh lemon juice.
While still warm, poke holes in cake with skewer. Pour lemon glaze over cake.
