I made this pasta and bean dish one night when I realized
I didn't have all the ingredients to make pasta e faglioi the old fashioned way. I had a lg can of V-8 juice
And I thought. What the heck! It's been a family favorite for years now.
Saute onions in small amount of olive oil until soft . Season with salt and pepper. Add garlic cook for 3-4 minutes. Add V-8 juice and dried basil. Cook approx 30 min on simmer letting V-8 juice thicken. Add beans. Cook pasta, add to beans. Taste again and season if necessary. Serve in bowls
And hot italuan bread.
Pasta can all be the same, but I ways use trio Italiano which is shells, rotini and mezza penne
