A take off from Paula deen's recipe
For grits:
Combine broth and water in medium saucepan on medium high. Bring to boil. Add grits and return to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour stirring frequently. Stir in half and half, and continue to cook for another 45 minutes, stirring frequently.
30 minutes after adding half and half, start shrimp.
For shrimp:
Cook bacon and keep 2 tbsp of drippings in pan. Crumble bacon coursely. Set heat to mediium. Add onion, garlic and creole seasoning. Cook for 2 minutes. Add mushrooms and cook until almost done. Add wine and cook another 2 minutes. Increase heat to med-high and add shrimp, cooking until pink.
Remove grits from heat. Stir in cheese and pepper.
Serve shrimp over grits
