Homemade biscuits
1. Preheat oven to 450F. In a large bowl combine flour and the 3/4 cup cold butter. Using your hands or pastry blender, mix flour and butter until crumbly. Add milk; mix well with a fork until just combined. Gently knead dough a few times until it just comes together. Transfer to a floured surface. Roll to 1/2-inch thickness. Using a 3-inch round cutter, cut about 20 biscuits, rerolling dough as needed.
2. Place biscuits on baking sheets. Brush with melted butter. Bake, one sheet at a time, 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden. Makes about 20 biscuits.
