A traditional New England dessert!
Preheat to 375. Place berries in 1?-quart baking dish. Combine sugar and spices, sprinkle over berries, toss gently. Drizzle syrup over it, then drizzle the lemon juice. Bake 5 mins. Remove from oven and raise heat to 425. To make topping, mix dry ingredients together. Then blend in butter. Stir in egg and add as much of the milk as necessary to make a soft dough. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls over the berries. Bake 25 mins or until crust is well browned. Serve hot with whipped cream.
