Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Balls
Tools:
1 mixing bowl
1 large plastic bag
1 rolling pin
2 measuring cups: 1 cup. 1/4 cup
1 wooden spoon
1 cookie sheet
1 sheet of tin foil
1 source of coldness, a freezer works well
Once all the supplies have been gathered it's time to do it up. I hope you don't mind getting your hands dirty.
Take the Wheaties and put them in a plastic bag. Take a rolling pin to the plastic bag. What we're looking to do is get 1.25 cups of crushed Wheaties. You can't really overdo the rolling so stick with it until the Wheaties are between rice and sand in size. Measure out 1.25 cups and put it in a large mixing bowl.
Melt butter until liquid, pour into bowl of Wheaties and mix with wooden spoon
Mix in 1.25 cups powdered sugar
Mix in 1 cup peanut butter. For this stage you may want to forgo the wooden spoon and mix it up by hand. It will be a fairly dry mixture and somewhat difficult to do with a spoon. I recommend washing your hands first but that's optional, depending on your preferred level of hygiene.
Roll Final mixture into spheres and place on cookie sheet. The more spherical the balls the better the presentation.
Place cookie sheet in the freezer for 2-forever hours. What we're looking for is for the peanut butter balls to firm up.
Microwave your chocolate chips until slightly liquidy. Once the chips have melted some but not fully stir for consistent temperature and consistency.
Dip balls in chocolate. Place back on cookie sheet. Recool.
In about an hour or so the treats will be done and will no longer need refrigeration. Trust me when I say this; you will want a big glass of milk. These bad boys are absolutely delicious. I've never had one complaint or even one fence sitter on these. Everybody loves chocolate covered peanut butter balls, everybody.
