Suggest a better descriptionSteam clams until open. Strain stock, remove clam meat, set aside.
Blanch potatoes, set aside.
Dice raw bacon and sauté in heavy bottom skillet or dutch oven until bacon begins to crisp.
Add butter onion and celery and sauté about 2 minutes. Add garlic and all the seasonings except the dill and parsley and sauté another minute.
Add flour , lower heat and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Add dairy items, clam juice and clam base and heat until almost boiling stirring consistently.
Add blanched red potatoes and clams and bring to boil and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Stir in dill and parsley.
Serve
