One of Julie's mom's old recipes. She made it recently for SJS teachers and they loved it.
Sift together the flour, salt, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Add brown sugar, sugar, and vegetable oil and mix on medium speed until feathery.
Take out 3/4 cup of this mixture to make topping. To the 3/4 cup, add nuts and 1 tsp cinnamon.
To the balance of the mixture, add baking soda, baking powder, egg, and buttermilk. Mix until smooth.
Pour into a greased 9x13 pan. Sprinkle topping evenly over the top. Lightly press down topping.
Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until done in center. Freezes well.
