Combine sugar and honey and cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture dissolves and is syrup-like. 3. Add chestnuts and cook, covered, over very low heat until tender (about 2 hours), stirring frequently. 4. Separate chestnuts. Arrange on a serving platter, which has been either covered with waxed paper or rubbed generously with peanut oil. Let cool; then serve. SOAK OVERNIGHT From
