delmonico steaks perfectly grilled on the BBQ
Turn the BBQ on and set it to high, allowing it to preheat. The hotter the better, usually 700degrees is the optimal temp. Start out with a room temperature piece of meat. Lay out a piece of butches paper to eliminate mess. Start by applying salt and pepper to both sides of steak rubbing it in prior to flipping. For best flavor apply salt and pepper to edges also. Place steak directly on grill searing it on both sides at first. Using a basting brush apply butter to the top side and allow steak to cook for two minutes. Flip steak and apply butter again. Allow steak to cook for an additional 2-4 minutes depending on preference. Two minutes for rare, four for med. Rare os the preferred method. Serve immediately.
Use a thick cut, with a good amount of marbling. Delicious steak.
