Heat a skillet. Add nuts. Cook until nuts are golden. Transfer to a bowl, let cool 5 min. Combine nuts, basil, 1/3 cup oil, and garlic in a blender. Process until a thick paste forms. Add cheese and salt, process until smooth, transfer to a bowl. *Heat remaining oil in a skillet. Add ham, cook until it is slightly browned. Transfer to a plate. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta, cook according to package directions, drain. Transfer pasta to a bowl, add pesto and tomatoes, toss. Divide pasta among 4 plates, garnish each with ham.
