They are very basic and I think I would doctor them up, myself - they lend themselves to experimentation. Add or subtract anything your family prefers. All recipes contributed LANCASTER COUNTY AMISH COOKBOOK. Cook for 20 minutes. Add: 1-1/2 cup rice Cover and cook until rice is tender. Serve. (This sounds a bit "blah" to me - Id be tossing in a bit of salt, pepper, oregano, basil, pinch of sugar, paprika - dress it up anyway your family would most prefer.)
