A wonderfully aromatic and mildly spiced Indian dish
If using an oven, pre-heat the oven to 180 degC.
Heat a non-stick or cast iron frypan and dry roast the almonds till they are lightly browned. This toasting is optional but it does add a nice flavour.
Put the yoghurt into a heatproof casserole dish or a slow cooker bowl and mix in all the spices and bay leaves and raisins and almonds.
Cut the beef into large cubes (about double bite sized).
Add the meat to the yoghurt and mix again.
Cook it for about 1 hour in an oven or on automatic in your slow cooker.
Serve with rice
Roast the almonds and use saffron NOT any other red/yellow flavoured spice like turmeric.
