The lavender lends a subtle floral hint to these rich brownies. Superb!
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Butter a 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Pulse the lavender in a coffee or spice grinder with 1 T. of the sugar until well incorporated. Transfer to a large bowl and add the flour, cocoa, salt, espresso or coffee powder and remaining sugar. Mix well. Melt butter in microwave until just melted (don''t let it get hot). Whisk eggs and vanilla into melted butter. Pour butter mixture into dry ingredients and mix just until well combined. Pour into prepared pan, smooth the top, and bake for 35-45 minutes or until just done. DON''T OVERCOOK!. Cut into squares when completely cool.
