Suggest a better descriptionSimple Syrup:Pur 1/2 cup boiling water over 1/2 cup sugar stir until all sugar disolves. Stir in 1/4 cup lightly packed fresh mint leaves. Cover. Chill at least 4 hours.
Julep:
Pour 1 tablespoon simple syrup in tall glass. Add 2 to 4 sprigs of fresh mint. With the back of a spoon, crush the mint. Fill the glass with crushed ice. Stir in 1/4 cup bourbon. If desired, add up to 1/2 cup tonic water. Sprinkll with powdered sugar. garnish with a mint sprig.
