This is a family recipe for bread that we've been using for over 30 years. Brings back memories
1. If your yeast is from the freezer, mix 2T with 2 cups of white flour to allow it to reach room tempature faster.
2. Combine Oil, water, mollasas and salt in a bowl and mix well
3. Add 4 cups of whole wheat flour to bowl and mix well
5.Add yeast and white flour from #1 to #4 in a large bowl and mix well
6. Add remaining 6 cups of white flour and need for 5 min
7. Put in large bowl and place in oven with just oven light on for 15 min to rise, punch down adn repeat 4 times
8. Cut into 6 equal loves and place in greased bread pans. Put pans in oven, poke with fork many times to allow air to penetrate and let rise for 1 hour
9. remove bread pans, heat oven to 350F and bake bread for 40 min
10. remove bread and brush with butter on all sides to produce a soft crust.
Swap 1 cup of brown flour for ground flax seeds for a healthy alternative.
