A traditional Scottish preparation!
Peel and finely chop the onions
Wash and remove skin off carrots, thinly slice (thickness of a coin)
In a frying pan, add a little oil and fry off the Minced beef (do it in 2 or 3 portions so not to boil the mince at this stage)
Once fried, remove the mince into a colander / sieve (leave a little of the oil / flavour in the pan) & Drain over a pan.
Fry off the Onions & Carrots.
Take a kettle full of boiling water and pour over the mince to remove excess oil / fat
Add all together in a large pot and pour over boiling water until just below the surface.
Add 4 OXO Beef Cubes (other stoke cubes are available)
Simmer for 40 minutes
Add Bisto Gravy Granules to thicken at the end and serve
