Saute onion in butter (or margarine) and set aside.
Combine muffin mix, egg, milk, creamed corn, and hot pepper sauce. Pour into a 9" greased baking pan. Add sour cream, dill weed, salt, and half of the cheese to onion mixture: mix well. Pour over batter and sprinkle other half of the cheese over all.
Bake 30 minutes. Cut in squares and serve hot.
