Old time favorite
Make pie crust according to this recipe or use a pre made store crust.
Place one crust in bottom of 9" pie plate pressing into sides of plate.
Trim edges
For Filling:
Combine brown sugar, sugar, flour and cinnamon.
Cut in butter until crumbs form.
Toss in apples, mix well.
Construct pie
Pour apple mixture into pie shell and sprinkle apple cider over filling.
Add top pie crust trimming within 1/2 from edge.
fold top edge under bottom edge and flute or seal with a fork.
Cut vents into top crust to allow steam to escape.
Brush top with milk and sprinkle with sugar
Place in preheated 400 degree oven for 10 minutes
Place a cookie sheet on bottom rack below pie in case filling bubbles over.
Reduce temperature to 375 degrees and bake 30-40 minutes or until filling is bubbling and crust is a golden brown
Cool before serving.
Place 1 pie crust in 9" pie plate.
