Directions:
1. Heat the butter in a 4-quart saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook until the onion is tender-crisp.
2. Add the broth,brown sugar, thyme, black pepper and pumpkin and heat the mixture to a boil.Cover and reduce the heat to low. Cook for 10 minutes or until the vegetablesare tender.
3. Add the apples. Cook for 5 minutes more or until the applesare tender.
4. Mash the vegetable mixture with fork or potato masher. Serve immediately.
