Melanie's recipie (Christmas)
Preheat oven to 450 F and place rack in center of oven.
Crust : Pulse in your food processor the flour, salt and sugar.
Add the butter and pulse together until dough just begins to come together.
Pat the dough to the bottom of a spring pan previously sprayed with non stick spray.
Cover 1/4 inch at the bottom and up about 1 inch the side.
Cover with plasctic wrap and place in the fridge while you prepare the filling
Filling: Beat the cream cheese with the sugar until smooth.
Add the egg and vanilla extract. Pour into the crsut and return everythong to the fridge.
Topping.: Combine sugar and cinnamon in a large bowl. Toss in the apples, and coat envenly.
Arrange over the filling in a layer and sprinkle with the almonds.
Bake at 450 for 10 minutes, than reduce the heat to 400 and continue baking for 25-30 minutes
until the crust is brown, the apples are tender aand the filling is almost set.
Let cool on a rack and serve at room temperature
