Banana bread
Mix butter and sugar together until blended.
Mix baking soda and milk and add to mixture.
Beat eggs and add.
Add mashed bananas, vanilla and nuts (if desired).
Sift flour with pinch of salt and mix with the other ingredients.
Pour into a loaf pan and bake at 400 F for about 1 hour.
Test cake for doneness with a toothpick after an hour. If it comes out clean, it's ready. If not, leave in oven for another 5 minutes before testing again.
