This recipe is from our friends on Westridge Avenue. Natalie shared this with Peggy, who then shared this recipe with me. If you don't have buttermilk, you can substitute milk - sour with 1 tbls white vinegar and let set for 15 minutes, but I feel that buttermilk does an outstanding job.

Mix dry ingredients and let set, then mix the wet ingredients - add the vanilla and then the nuts last.
bake at 325' for 70 minutes
do not under or over bake
