Homemade sweet and smoky.
Heat oil in medium saucepan on medium.
Add onion, season with salt and pepper..
Cook covered, stirring occasionally until tender. (5-6 minutes)
Stir in garlic and cook 1 minute.
Add tomato paste and cook, stirring for 2 minutes.
Add ketchup, molasses, vinegar, brown sugar, chili powder, Worcestershire, mustard, cayenne, allspice and water and mix to combine.
Simmer, stirring, until thickened (about 3-4 minutes).
Let cool slightly.
Transfer to blender and blend until smooth.
Makes 1 1\4 cups.
